I wish more Americans would dedicate their time to projects like yours

Mr. Orr,

I just received 2 of your group’s care packages yesterday, and let me tell you, you all could not have timed it better.  My deployment is winding down and we are about to start heading home, and the packages just lifted me even more.  Thank you so much!

I noticed on your card that you are with VFW.  I have been a member for about a year now.  Well anyways, thank you again for your kindness and generosity.  I wish more Americans would dedicate their time to projects like yours.  Have a great day.

Sincerely,

Chad Lockman, Sgt USMC

Thank you for the package of goodies

Thank you for all your hard-work dedication and support

Operation Community Cares,

Greeting’s from the ISAF Military Detachment @ Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan. I just received a care package that you all sent to me. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time and doing such a great thing for us military members. I was really shocked to see that this organization is from home area. I was born in Riverside and raised in San Bernardino until I joined the USAF in 1994.

In past 17 years I have been around the world and some and it wasn’t till my deployment to Iraq that I saw some many people and organizations send their love and support in package. I will tell you that a lot of young service members don’t have a lot of family and when we receive this packages it makes a difference to them. Again, thank you for all your hard-work , dedication and support to the US Armed Forces Deployed service members, we sincerely appreciate it.

Next time I’m home on leave in the Inland Empire I will stop by to personally thank you and your volunteers!

I do miss my In/Out and Bakers..LOL

God Bless

V/R

Mr. Orr,

Your card was in a care package I recently received.  I just wanted to thank you and your organization for sending me a couple of care packages, containing so many goodies.  I’ve shared much of it with my fellow Soldiers.  It’s great to know that there are folks like you willing to sacrifice your time and effort to ensure that Soldiers feel remembered and appreciated.  It means a lot to know that the everyday Americans remember that we still are at war and care about the 1% of Americans, the military members, whose job it is to continue the fight.

Thanks so much,

Another Thank You Letter from Iraq

Thank You from Afghanistan

Subject: Thank You from Afghanistan (UNCLASSIFIED)

Dear Mr. Orr and Operation Community Cares:

I wanted to take the time to send a thank you for the many boxes that were sent our way. I run a Combat Stress Clinic (i.e., mental health) at a forward deployed base in Afghanistan, and taking care of Soldiers and Airmen is the cornerstone of our mission. A lot of guys don’t have easy access to snacks or personal hygiene items, so I wanted you to know just how much they smile when we show up armed with care packages. It is also a huge moral boost to be reminded that people haven’t forgotten us and America appreciates the work we are doing on her behalf. Thank you for taking the time to support us.

If able, please forward onto the students from Rancho Cucamonga High School and Jefferson School Library that we received their letters and enjoyed reading them. It is a pleasure to hear from them, and now many of their letters and pictures are hanging in our clinic as reminders from back home.

If you would like to continue sending care packages, I can personally assure you that Soldiers will receive the items and be told where they came from. Our mailing address is:

Shindand AB
APO AE 09382

Again, thank you.

God Bless the United States of America.

Subject: 4th of July Care package for my son

Dear Jim,
I wanted to let you and all your wonderful volunteers know that my son, SGT Jordan Monroe received all the care packages from your organization and was absolutely delighted. He got 5 in all and immediately took them to his “office” where he opened them up and shared them with all the soldiers he works with. They were all very grateful!

Jordan is currently working 12 hours a day, 7 days week and is not able to even write home (thank goodness for the phone) but he wanted me to send his heartfelt thanks to all of you for your thoughtfulness!

I also want to thank you for your great kindness to Jordan and all those who are serving so far from home!

Cyndi Monroe

I would like to extend my gratitude
